Watercolor Wednesday - Dead Partridge

Watercolor Wednesday - Dead Partridge

I'm an early bird. And there's nothing I can do about it. Try as I might I cannot sleep past 4:30 - 5:00 am. The internal alarm clock in my head goes off and so begins my day. My routine is to get up and binge on DVR reality shows (no judging). It's the best time to watch because there is no running criticism from my husband. Do I comment on all his sci-fi, geeky, nerdy shows that he likes? No.

So one Sunday morning, around 6 am while still quite dark, I was watching Real Housewives of Something in the dark by myself. When suddenly I heard what quite literally sounded like a gunshot not three feet behind my head. Scared the bejeezus out of me!!! When I finally figured it was okay to peek from behind the couch there was nothing. But when it became a little lighter out, this is what I found.

Aww! I know, I was sad too. The Audubon Society said he was probably trying to get away from a predator and was racing towards the light of my TV when he slammed into my window. Damn Housewives!

He was so beautiful that I tried to capture him in watercolor. But how I wish I had saved some of those feathers.
